In April, Bill and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. Our three children got together and gifted us a weekend away at any state park lodge in Kentucky. We were to give them our top three places and our top three dates. Well, this last weekend was our "weekend away". We could not have been luckier when it comes to weather - beautiful sunshiney days with very low humidity which is very unusual for Kentucky. We spent both Friday and Saturday nights in a lovely lodge at Barren State Park in central Kentucky. We spent all day Saturday and most of the day on Sunday out on our boat in a beautiful lake. We went exploring and fished, and lazed the days away - it was AWESOME!! At night, we sat out on our deck overlooking the lake and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Bill took a gazillion pictures, and hopefully soon I can download some to show what it was like.
In less than two weeks we will be on the road again. Bill and I and another couple are going to spend three nights in a cabin just outside of Asheville, NC. We will tour the Biltmore Estate, and do some general sightseeing and chilling out. That Tuesday, Bill will ride home with our friends, and I will drive on to Myrtle Beach, SC for the Pals Convention/Reunion. I am so looking forward to that - good folks and good fun. HOWEVER, I have a ton of things I have to get done before I go, so Wish Me Luck!!
Gotta go get to doing them!
