I am not going to be at home tomorrow, so I thought I would give you my promised update today. I am really quite pleased with the progress I made this week on the Peaceable Kingdom. I probably doesn't show very well, but there is a lot of background stitched with a very pale blue floss using only one strand. At one time I had contemplated not bothering, but then , I decided that I really should do it. And I think I am glad for that decision. This weekend we are going to be visiting some friends, and I am going to take this with me because I can stitch on the background without having to do much in the way of concentrating.
I also started my Lizzie*Kate Boo Club pieces. I had to make a change, though, because of the color of the banding I am using. The chart calls for a combination of Mascara and Whitewash for the checkered border, but the whitewash was the exact color of the banding, and therefore got lost. So I switched it to a bright yellow DMC. Then, of course, I had to change the inner border which was supposed to be Ohio Lemon Pie, but it would not have contrasted with the checkered border enough. So, I am going to do the inner border in Carrot. I was also a little concerned that the chart was going to completely fill horizontally the banding, but I think I can still get a finishing fabric attached after I am done.Health wise, I am feeling pretty good. I still am having some pain in my back, but it is survivable. I am anxious to get to see the oncologist on Monday, and have a plan in place as to what my life is going to be like for the near future. I am ready to go back to work. Maybe not full time right away, but at least part time so that I don't get too far behind.
I want to thank you all for your comments, they do mean a lot to me. I hope you all have a great weekend, and get lots of stitching done!
